If I were you, I would take your third encounter to first try and read her body language and reaction to you again. If you think it's positive again, chances are she does like you. I'd also just try to ask for her number, it's not as forward or as intimidating for both parties than asking her out. Perhaps even joke a little about it, maybe get talking then say "I'd like a sundae and your number" with a cheeky smile. See how that goes down. I wouldn't put yourself 100% out there, and definitely wouldn't ask her out at the the till.
I'm not saying that's the best thing to do, it would just be my approach. That way, even if she says 'I have a boyfriend' or she dismisses the request with laughter or a joke, you've tested the waters but haven't been burned. Just smile, say goodbye and carry on. If you do get the number though, make sure to play it cool, give her some eye contact, smile, use her name and tell her you'll chat later. Important: don't ring or txt her 2 minutes or even 2 hours after walking out of the place. Wait until the evening.
