The Banner Saga also hit by King trademark claims
Not content with candy-related takedowns, King has seemingly contradicted its promises to be thoughtful in its application of trademark claims by filing a notice against The Banner Saga, a game with absolutely no connection to Candy Crush Saga beyond a shared word.
Rain World, Catlateral Damage included in latest Steam Greenlight approvals
Valve has passed 50 new titles through its Steam Greenlight community approval process, including Rain World and Catlateral Damage.
EA has also paid for YouTube promotions
Following on from Microsoft and Machinima’s “typical” paid Xbox One promotion, one NeoGAF user has come forward with documents allegedly pertaining to a similar promotional deal pertaining to next-generation EA games. While not going into specifics, an EA representative confirmed the promotion’s existence with The Verge, saying that “some fans are compensated for the YouTube videos they create and share about our games” and that participants are required to abide by the FTC’s guidelines regarding disclosure of paid advertorial material.

Diablo 3 launcher to be upgraded to Battle.net desktop client
Diablo 3′s launcher will soon be redundant, integrated fully into Blizzard’s ever-improving Battle.net desktop client upon release of first expansion Reaper of Souls. A Battle.net announcement offers you the chance to get in early by downloading the client now, ahead of what is likely to be serious demand on launch day. Otherwise, the upgrade will take place automatically when Reaper of Souls and patch 2.0.1 drop, on March 25. The client also works for World of Warcraft and StarCraft 2.
