Yes. It will offer a benefit but not even nearly as big as Xbox fans say it's going to be - just like what happened with Cell. Also, it won't offer clearly visible benefits until maybe years from now, just like Cell. It will, though, offer small benefits right away, but those benefits will be mostly invisible.
