This is basically what i wanted for some time now.
I just don`t know if other Nintendo portables could even be used as controllers. Probably just the new handheld.
Still, being able to buy one game and play it on both consoles (i assume both share the same saving process) - on the go or at home -is a great idea.
Being able to use them as one would be the biggest reason to own both seeing as we would be seeing a streamlined line-up shared by both consoles. Which would allow for Nintendo to use their human resources to build other kind of games, instead of having to develop, for exemple, 2 different Mario games, 2 different Zelda games, etc.
