I know they are trying to ease the profit loss by allowing the PS3 to tread on but in the end the PS3 is restricting sales. A solution to this would be allow the PS3 to go on for a tad longer, end of this fiscal year. After that cancel all production of the machine. Add Backward Compatability to the PS4, standard. Bite the bullet till the cost to produce the machine comes down again. I just really think that the PS3 MUST DIE!!! Who is with me? |
The biggest thing that is hurting PS4 sales is lack of availibility. Quick look at Bestbuy and Amazon shows still sold out. If anything MS should kill the 360, XB1s are sitting on store shelves (and being shipped back in many cases) and the 360 is still selling well.
I dont see them killing the PS3 until they get the PS4 down under 300 dollars(at least 2 years).
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
