There`s no reason for Nintendo to leave the console business, be it handheld or home consoles.
The biggest problem with the recent news was not the lack of Wii U sales, but how high that goal was. Nintendo should had never expected that much.
If anything, all the recent quotes from Iwata and what he said in January last year, point not to a decrease in HW business, but an increase.
