That's your thinking error right there. You'll never know if you're getting ripped off or not based on that info. 

And besides, you will be building a brand new house to suit your needs and style in a location you like. Do you really want to move to say Greece?

I know this, but I want to check out prices around the world.

And the funny thing is, I actually looked at Greece to know how much an appartment is there after all the financial trouble this country went through. Still more expensive than I thought it would be.
