Haven't Nintendo confirmed a thousand times that "X" is just a placeholder? For the curiosity there was actually a game just called "X" on the original Game Boy, only for Japan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X_(1992_video_game) It was made by Argonaut, the same people who assisted Nintendo for Star Fox (SNES).
I haven't played Xenoblade Chronicles, but I guess the final title will be something with Xeno- in it.
