This is a site that has a focus on sales, past, present and future, and discussion is concentrated on that topic. There are 2 things to talk about that are of intense interest to people: booming sales and bust sales. And more interesting still is when boom and bust are happening at the same time.
For as long as Wii U is failing there will be threads looking to pick apart that failure. Some will be analytical others will be vultures circling hoping for death. In the end though it doesn't seem to be any worse than when PS3 launched and was seeing very low sales. Plenty of Sony doom threads then.
There's less schadenfreude about PSV failure because PSP was only ever the bridesmaid, both in terms of competition with Nintendo and with Playstation itself, and there was pretty low expectations for PSV even before it released.
If the generation goes the way I think it will then there'll be a lot less gleeful hand rubbing over Wii U failure and a lot more consternation at how all consoles are under-performing relative to gen 7. So this Wii U negativity focus is just a short term thing that will self-correct over time.
