I never had it either. I have gotten every one since Double Dash though. It ussually takes time for a franchise to gain massive popularity. The only exception I can think of is Pokemon, but with the TV show and trading cards, it had so much exposure that it really blew up overnight. Even Mario was in a couple of games before Super Mario Brothers, that were not very popular.
