That's irrelivant to what I'm saying. The entire racing genre on Playstation/Xbox isn't looking very successful. Yet Gran Turismo sales have always been phenomenal despite the apparent weakness of that genre. So in the end of the day, name and quality play a very important role. Also, Nintendo's massive fanbase don't own a Wii U anyway. If Nintendo goes third party and continues making excellent games, I'm sure it will attract a lot of fans into buying XB1/PS4. You speak as if Nintendo's fanbase will suddenly "disappear" if they leave the console business. In a sense, going third party should accelerate Nintendo's sales because they will theoretically have access to all of the big 3's fanbases. Of course unless they screw up like Sega did. Having said that, I don't want them to go third party because I feel that may cause them to lose that "passion" of making great games. |
A lot of them would. I know I would. A very large portion of Nintendo's core crowd are also PC gamers to compensate for the missing parts in Nintendo's library. I think a lot of them would likely fall back to PC only and dissappear from console gaming altogether.
