I doubt Microsoft would be willing to pay that bill, tbh you just need the first game in a series to be exclusive then the sequels sell better on that console, look at Mass Effect, Dead Rising, and Saints Row.

it does kinda have a declining effect as the series progress's say Saint's Row 3 the sales are 2.2m to 2.6m in favour of the 360 and with Bioshock infinate it's 1.2m on the ps3 to 1.6 on the 360 again the difference died down a lot compared to the Bioshock 2 sales which sold almost double the number of units on the 360.
Still tho there was a press statement not long ago which suggested that even if games were coming to both X1 and PS4 from 3rd party devs Microsoft would do what they could to secure additional content for the X1 versions of the game... which I'm not really a fan of since it means they're basically investing the money which Microsoft sets aside for their gaming division not into creating games really but paying 3rd party devs to cut chunks outta ps4 games... it's lose/lose for gamers.

I think the declining effect has more to do with the PS3 picking up steam near the end of this generation.

ah yes... the years of "ps3 haz no gaemz" even tho it clearly did all the time but it was more a case of "ps3 potential owners can't find a 5th job to afford buying the system" I still find it crazy how well Sony turned around the faith of the PS3 it really gives me hope for the Vita if they can spare it some love when they're happy that the ps4 is rolled out worldwide.
