We don't yet know what's coming out in 2014, but if you're trying to compare the Vita's lineup to the Wii U's, you still don't have a leg to stand on... The only game you mentioned that's actually being developed by Sony is Freedom Wars (and they have two other studios working on that) because Sony does not want to use their developers for the Vita. Wii U has Mario Kart 8, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Smash Bros U, X, most likely Yarn Yoshi, and will fund/publish Bayonetta and Hyrule Warriors. These are larger projects, most of which are being developed by Nintendo themselves (or Nintendo owned studios) or at the very least are solely funded by Nintendo. Of course, things could change over the course of the year, but based on what we know, Nintendo is putting far more resources into the Wii U. And yes, you do need a large install base to sell games. Persona 4 Golden sold 600k copies. That's not enough to create a thriving market. And that's the exception to the rule. That's the highest selling Japanese developed third party game, and the third best selling third party game overall. Those sales are going to be unacceptable to all but smaller Japanese developers. So you'll see support from those guys, but few games will be localized. |
You are not honest here.
Vita first party(developped by Sony) confirmed for 2014 :
- Freedom Wars
- Soul Sacrifice Delta( otherwise, Smash Bros U wouldnt be first party because it's developped by Namco too )
- Oreshika 2 ( you surely dont know what this game is to say it's not first party, it's 100% made by sony Japan)
Wii U first party confirmed for 2014 :
- DK : TF
- Mario Kart
- X
- SSB
So it's untrue, Nintendo has only one more first party game scheduled for 2014 based on what we know.
and like i said, Vita has much more 3rd party games coming
Persona 4G sales in less than 1 year are excellent compared to other Persona, it proves that install base is not the most important thing, like Ys Celceta and a lot of other games selling well despite the install base. The fact namco bandai and other big developers choose to support Vita now shows i'm totally right, they saw the opportunit to make good profit.
andwhat you say about localisation is again totally untrue, there is many games coming in the west on Vita, even little games like Demon Gase ( just wait 1 year)or game like Toukiden, Ys Celceta, Sorcery Saga, DanganRonpa.
Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:
PS4: 17m XB1: 10m WiiU: 10m Vita: 10m
