So I was looking on game rankings, and saw that a 3DS title I was always interested in, Mutant Mudds, which came out on Vita in the US late last year, had a meta rating of 55%. Given that this is a "darling" of the 3DS E-Store, you'd think such a massively low meta was down to a shit port.

However, it's pretty much identical to the PS3 and Wii U ports boating more content than the 3DS version.

Mutant Mudds Deluxe Meta ratings on Game Rakings were:

PS3 - 80%
Wii U - 84.29%
Vita - 55%

This actually perfectly highlight why "meta ratings" particularly on Vita can't be preached like they are being to state "no gaemz!" especially as the sole review for the Vita version states this...

"Basically, it all comes down to this: there's no shortage of controller-throwingly difficult platformers on the Vita and the PS3, and a large number of them are better than this one is. Go for one of those ones instead, because this one just isn't worth your time."

So does that mean that there are a large number of far better games on Vita, than one of the best games on 3DS, where it's the 30th highest ranked title, and was the 9th best 3DS release of 2012...

Yeah I know how flawed this whole meta thing is and reviews are subjective, but given how all the meta scores get preached as hall marks of qubutality, I found it really interesting that one of 3DS's highest acclaimed titles, is marked as a poor example of the genre when reviewed on Vita.

But why such a low meta? Is the game broken or something? Or are there very few reviews?

Cause there may be some merit that Vita/handheld games get usually lower score than their console counterparts but not of a 30 points difference.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!
