So... Basically what you are suggesting is a cpu/gpu that is still worse than a ps4/x1 but slightly better than the wiiU? And instead of buying SoC for a cheaper price with IBM and Amd, they should pay more to go for Nvidia? I say pay more cause Nvidia wants more which is the main reason why none of the big 3 went with Nvidia GPU...

And Emulation is a big selling point? LOL.... They can do that on the wiiU right now if they want to, they just don't want to for what ever reason...

Also, you do know that getting such a New SoC on hardware costs a ton of money right? The OUYA costed $100 with the Tegra 3 was because it launched over a year after when the Tegra 3 originally launched, the asking price that Nvidia will ask of Nintendo would be so high that the console, by default, will have to be $200+ since the new SoC isn't even out yet

And no, it will do worse than the wiiU for 100s of reasons, one important one is by the time the even start manufacturing the console, the technology will be old... Do you really think the tablets that will use the new Nvidia SoC havn't already made deals with Nvidia? And no it is not worth a try cause if it fails, they lose even more money

Your Idea is horrible, Do some research please

Heck, you want an example? Look at the vita, its basically an OUYA... It emulates psp and ps1 games and there is a vita TV version for $100... Shits not selling

Yeah, I knew Vita TV wouldn't sell and it was hilarious how Neogaf was making it out like it was going to dethrone Apple and so forth. Hahahaha.

Actually you have a point though with Vita TV...

But there's a lot of differences, for one it's less powerful even the 360. For two it's not Sony's main console or focus and Sony has a history of anbandoning projects (3D, Move, eyetoy, etc etc etc)

Also emulating early 3D games is a whole other kettle of fish and not very attractive imo. I dont really care about playing ugly PS1/PS2 games. 2D stands the test of time and is what people have nostalgia for. Nobody is yearning to play old PS1 games...but everybody in the world loves 2D Mario games and the like.

Emulation on Wii U was also a good point, they would have to have a change of heart and push emulation as a key aspect of the system.

Also stop being hung up on the Tegra K1, it doesn't have to be that, it can be any latest mobile chipset from any company (they will all have chipsets competitive to K1 anyway)

Mobile chipsets tend to be cheap, Google Nexus devices usually have the latest and greatest chipsets for very cheap prices (229 Nexus tablet, which includes a screen and lots of other stuff a console doesn't need)

$100 may be pushing it, that's why I'd aim for $149.

My idea could fail, but I dont see a lot of options. What do YOU advocate? If they keep going with Wii U, it will keep dying. Believe that.

At this point, they don't have a choice... Sell the wiiU for however much they can and make money on software and the 3ds will help with the cost... 2013 was a stupid year for Nintendo and the main reason for that is Iwata took control of NoA from Reggie and made the decisions that affected Nintendo so negatively... He has no idea what the NA market wants so he should go back to Japan.. They finally started advertising in November of 2013 (a year after the wiiU launched) and people finally started to understand that the wiiU is its own system and an extension of the wii... There was also a no show at e3 so there was really no excitement behind the wiiU

The games are also a factor, Pikmen 3 was suppose to launch in the launch window and not 6-8 months later and its a niche title... And they had two Mario in one year which is a bigger deal than one may think cause they are both platformers which is bad... In other words, they had games, apart from Mario, that hardly anyone cares about... But its clear that when a major game does come out, it does sell consoles and MK8 and Smash Bros should be enough to sell a lot of wiiUs and games like DKC, Beyonatta 2 and X (and what ever else Nintendo will annouce) should keep the sales sustained... I am not talking about like ps4/x1 sales btw, not like 300k+ or anything but enough to make money... They don't need to lose money in making a brand new console (Because manufacturing new parts will add a lot of cost) and don't need to saturate the market by getting one out without the gamepad... Not every hardware generation has to be a success but they better make sure their next one don't suck...
