After last year’s $1 million crowdfunding campaign, the single-player and co-op RPG is available through early access in two editions: standard (€39.99/$39.99) and the Co-Op Deluxe Pack (€59.99/$59.99) which comes with two copies of the game and a double pack of Divine Divinity plus Beyond Divinity. AMD's Mantle API: how it works and why PC developers will adopt it
Comments3Since the fall, we’ve heard some eyebrow-raising claims about Mantle, AMD’s new API (application programming interface). The numbers being tossed around in terms of performance-gain seem almost hard to believe, with Battlefield 4 running up to 45% faster via Mantle over DirectX.
It seems too good to be true, so we talked with AMD’s Robert Hallock. He explained how AMD have been able to achieve these kind of results with their API, and why he thinks it has such a strong case for being adopted as a standard. If he’s right, Mantle could spell huge changes for how games are made, and what kind of performance PC gamers can expect from their own machines.
China’s free-to-play shooter CrossFire earns more than League of Legends and World of Warcraft combined
Comments1Tencent must be pretty chuffed right now. Their latest earnings report for 2013 shows that CrossFire alone, their free-to-play shooter, earned them $957 million. If that wasn’t enough, their other major free-to-play game, League of Legends, earned them another $624 million.
Free-to-play is clearly huge in China. Shows why quite so many developers are eager to tap into the market.

Teotl Studios has revealed its new survival sci-fi discovery game that will be powered by Unreal Engine 4 and will be called Solus. In Solus, players must survive on an uninhabited planet amid incredibly harsh conditions with the player under constant threat from extreme highs and lows of temperatures, rising and falling tides, shifting winds and fog, and dozens of other variables that affect everything from the ground-level atmosphere to the stars above. Project Tower – Puzzle/Hack’n'slash Title Powered By Unreal Engine 4 – First Early Footage Revealed
Springboard Interactive has released the first video footage from its upcoming puzzle/hack’n'slash title that will be powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 4. Now while this may be THAT impressive, keep in mind that it is early WIP footage (hell, the game does not even have a proper title).
