Yeah, that statement does not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

Hopefully it will be more of a hybrid type of device with further "smart" features...aimed at a lower cost hardware and excellent online/digital libraries.

Nintendo needs to keep 100% control of Nintendo, but hedging that on the back of say Android so it can also provide a lot more functionality and those same mobile games via their own hardware and eshop may be a good idea.
