Like always, it`s too soon to determine how the generation will play out; like always, people are too quick to make conclusions despite history showing that anything can happen.
So far, the new consoles have a lot of hype behind them, but in terms of offerings, are they really above and beyond what PS3 and Xb360 offered? In my opinion, no.
That disparity between what the systems can offer and their perceived value will eventually be seen in sales.
The only thing that might put them on the same levels of last generation - assuming they last that long - is the actual games. If games really are a generation apart from the last one, then, consoles sales might go the way of last gen. If not, i don`t see them going that far, even not being able to attract more casual gamers with a new COD kind of game.
Wii U is the most complicated issue at hand.
It started bad, really bad and is now paying it`s mistakes. But that won`t last forever.
If 2014 really does bring a steady flux of games and Nintendo manages to turn things around in terms of brand perception and what the gamepad has to offer, Wii U might actually see a revival.
