I'm not doubting that. But obviously they could just mean 2013, which would be a massive blow. It happens.

Eh.... that's pretty unlikely.  Why would someone make a point that the console sales in December were the highest for the year when basically EVERY system sells the most in December?  It would be a pretty weird statement.  We probably won't see actual numbers from Nintendo.
