The games are jsut pick up and play. No boring story, no endless cutscenes. You get right into the game, without any delay at all. Modern AAA games on the other hand are getting on your nerves with gazillions of boring logos before you even get to the menu. Then you go through some pointless tutorial and blah. Quite often, you find yourself spending an entire hour for a game and you haven't even really started! Not a problem for the hardcore gamer but annoying as hell for people who just started playing. Seriously, if gaming had been that complicated and time consuming in the 80s, I don't know if I had become a gamer back then. |
I respectfully disagree with your opinion. I love those things about modern gaming. I started gaming back in the late 80's and games were complicated and time consuming for different reasons. Most of them were harder to play and you did'nt have all the save and checkpoints that you do now. You only had a certain amount of continues and lives. You could save some with long passwords, but it all depended on the game. You did'nt have access to the interent are some guide to hold your hand. You pretty much had to figure out for your self for the most part. I love the fact that's gamings gotten deeper and more immersive, just like movies.
