FE will not have the legs of a Mario game. Legs are a product of genre (which means appeal in this case) and the available userbase. I'd say both games have similar appeal, but Ninokuni definitely has a lower barrier to entry.

With Playstation Now coming, I don't see how you think older games will stop selling.
