I think no marketing can save the Wii U. People, non gamers were interested in the Wii because of how quirky the Wiimote was. Wii U doesn't have that element, a screen in a device you hold in your hand... people have already seen tablets. It also has Wii Fit U and that doesn't work neither to get in the non gamer.
Xbox the same, 360 took off in year 5 thanks to Kinect, yet Xbox one already has Kinect, they won't have a similar device for the future because they already have and swore by the new Kinect. What can they actually introduce that can make them both work together? VR headset like it's rumored for PS4? Won't work, other than positional tracking which renders the Kinect basically a webcam. The console is also more expensive than PS4 and no way it will ever undercut the PS4.
