What can the XBONE do that the PS4 can't? The big things at the moment are suspend/resume, snapping, and TV in. Are casuals going to really want to spend $40 more just for those features and Kinect tracking when the PS4 is better in every other way? Also suspend/resume is coming and snapping would be very possible to port to PS4. If you are correct about casuals really valuing those features, Sony can implement all of them very quickly except HDMI in.

Tv in could actually be a big deal for casuals.  I know my 70 year father likes the sound of just being able to talk to his tv instead of using a remote.  If microsoft can get the price down, I can easily see microsoft being able to market to that casual crowd.  I still think the ps4 will lead globally, but I think microsoft will retain majority here in the US.

If your father is just interested in talking to the tv, wouldn't he be far more likely to get the comcast x1 or another cable box that does that? The X1 is only $50-$100 if you already have cable. It doesn't sound like he's interested in gaming, so even at $400 Microsoft would have a really hard time selling to this crowd.

Exactly, good luck trying to sell that to non gamers, what does it offer them what they can't already do? Hope they don't use PVR to boot.
