@Kane: I'm having trouble quoting.

I would argue Zelda is a more relevant franchise to the video game industry, to video game fans, and to video game critics and essayists. It has had a much greater impact on the industry in general and the action-adventure genre in particular. It is certainly more of a household name.

No, it isnt. It has a bigger legacy thanks to its 30 year life, but that should come at no surprise. Its more relevant to SOME fans, certanly not me, and some critics, not majority of them. It had more of an impact when NES was resurecting the industry, but since the 90's it had almost no impact, whereas Uncharted already had impact on games such as Tomb raider and star wars.

In terms of discussions, this is based only on my own observations, on this site and others, and in conversations with video game enthusiasts in the real world. I'm afraid I can't really quantify it. But I do believe Zelda causes more controversies and more heated debate, among the fan base and outside of it.

Well, at least you admited its by your own merits

More acclaimed really isn't up for debate. I'm not sure why you identified that as "factually wrong." In terms of aggregate critical scores, Zelda outpaces Uncharted. In terms of top 100 and top 10 lists, completed by fans and critics, Zelda games far outpace Uncharted games. Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past, in particular, are more critically-acclaimed than any Uncharted title.

What? Uncharted has a higher score on averige than Zelda, as for top 10/100 lists, you'd be hard pressed to find a list without uncharted 2 in it. And the franchise only has 4 games so far, whereas Zelda has 20+. And no LttP doesnt beat Uncharted 2 (95 vs 96) even tho UC2 has like 4 times more reviews to drag its averige score down.

Ocarina of time does beat it, but only with 22 reviews (compared to 100+ uc2 reviews). The score would have went down, had the game been reviewed more often. In fact, OoT on 3DS (an improved version of the game) fell short of UC2's score (96 vs 94)

And, lastly, of course "beloved" is highly subjective. I never said otherwise. Again, this is based on my observations. I have no evidence to support it. I think such evidence would be impossible to produce.
