Reasons listed below: -Less grinding -Easier to understand and master -No random encounters -Combat is more satisfying and less tedious -Your level doesn't hinder you as much as it would in a turn based RPG (ex. You're a level 4, but you have the best weapon in the game, so you still have a good chance of winning) This is just my opinion. List yours below! |
The bolded are not features of turn based combat. Even more I've seen them in plenty action RPGs where it is even more tedious because you have to engage in the fights more.
OT
Turn based RPGs all the way. However I like when they mix it up a bit. FFXIII, Resonance of Fate, Valkyrie Profile 2, Valkyria Chrinicles all have completely different turn based play but are still highly strategic and engaging.
Also I like grinding and random encounters and the fact that you can practically click away unwanted battles. In action RPGs you need your entire concentration for every battle which makes grinding or even progressing through weaker enemies a chore.
