SNES outsold Saturn and PS1 through mid 1996 pretty much everywhere. NES outsold Genesis in 1989/1990 I believe, though I don't have numbers for that.

Good to know, didn't know those facts. I wish VGC had all that past data, would be unlimited fun at work 
Anyway, I still find it pretty amazing that the PS2 is selling on par with the 360 2.5 years after 360's launch... Also, this should be very depressing to all 360 owners...
