This is a wierd thread because ur taking things a few vocal fanboys said and act like all Nintendo fans feel this way. Of course gaming would go on if Nintendo went under but the same could be said about Sony/Microsoft/EA/Capcom/Square/Sega/Activision/Ubisoft or any other company. But I think most can agree that Nintendo is the single most important company in gaming history.
They brought console gaming back from the dead in Amercia and console gaming didnt really exist in Japan before them. They were the first to make many things standard in gaming like D-Pad, shoulder buttons, diamond layout, rumble, analog stick, motion controls. They have completely dominated the handheld market for 25 years. They have sold more hardware and software than any other company.
They dominate the top selling software charts.
Top 10 all belong to Nintendo
21/25 belong to Nintendo
30/50 belong to Nintendo
52/100 belong to Nintendo
Mario is the best selling franchise ever, Pokemon is the second best selling franchise ever.
So ur right gaming would go on without Nintendo but they are by far the most important company in gaming history.
