Well there's no way PS4 is selling more than VGC is saying, because VGC numbers are on the mark with Sony's PR, now that they've adjusted. So your claim is that Xb one has sold somewhat less than VGC is showing. Well there's a 50% likelihood that this is the case, and since VGC has December being pretty even between PS4 and Xb one NPD showing less Xb one sales than VGC is quite likely to mean PS4 will be the higher selling console for December. But the difference between VGC and NPD Xb one number may not be statistically significant (probably won't be) so likelihood is that even if NPD is opposite to VGC for PS4 vs Xb one there will probably be nothing truly meaningful to the difference other than the bragging rights that the fanatics like to claim.

IMO both PS4 and Xb one fans are in for a rude awakening in the long term because neither console will match 7th gen sales once sales patterns settle down from launch period frenzy and move into mid-generation sales patterns. Not as rude an awakening as poor Nintendo fans with Wii U mind you.
