Wii has lasted the typical five years a consoles lasts, granted it had a much different sales curve but still technically sold relatively healthy for the normal five years, so you can't prove it was a "fad", you simply WANT it to be one (most likely in order to discredit it). There is a difference.. If you call Wii a fad, you must also call ALL consoles fads since they generally last the same five years of at least close to it. Either ALL video game consoles are fads, or NONE are.. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Nintendo didn't drop "waggle" as the Wii U uses the wiimote as the standard controller aside from the gamepad. |
I wouldnt say Ninty is all that more succesful. Actual numbers overall i dont know, eliminate years long packs in i dobut one domminates the other.
Wii is a fad by defenition, its a fad because of what it did it did not even for the full consoel gen. 360/PS3 are still selling well while waggle has long become irrelevent. Even with 8th gen launching, the 7th gen is still alive and kicking and doing damn good for it self. Its a fad because waggle gaming was proven irrelevent, mass market has not adopted it as the controls of choice.
Funny PS2 lasted 13 years in production PS lasted 10 and PS3 is in its 8th year, so yahh your if 5 yeas console lasts = fad defence is irrelevent and broken. And if your gonna argue aginast much accepted assertion that wii was a fad atleast use some logic and sense. Not the bs you posted. Iv read enough major news sources calling it just that, the market and society as a whole credit the wii a fad.
Ninty dropped waggle get over it, my WiiU came with no waggle out of the box. Thus waggle is mearly an add on to the WiiU thats just a fact.
