Well, masturbation is a big part of how adolescents learned about sex for who knows how long. Theoretically, people could just have sex without any masturbation, but the thing is tha sex is such a big part of our existence. We would certainly go extinct without sex. But masturbation is an essential part of sexuality, that I don't think you can take away one without taking away the other. It's hard to explain I guess.
