The Wii U has a higher proportion of sales from Japan than any other hardware besides the Vita. Week 1 is still a big sales week in Japan. That is why the Vita and Wii U drops have been somewhat softer this week. Next week will be down sharply in Japan which will have a larger effect on the Wii U (and Vita). It had the biggest drop of all hardware in the US. I'm too lazy to go through all the hardware in Europe, but it looks to have had one of the bigger drops there. |
And is any of that not what we expected? Nintendo generally has a higher than average holiday bump, and it's also not either a new console or under any supply constraints. This is perfectly within expectations. Obviously not amazing numbers, but nothing to change your opinion on the Wii U from last week.
