I watch movies on my PC so I wonder: how would any of those 28 inch 4K monitor deal with 1080p movies? I know that the image will have to be stretched to fill all the pixels, but with the pixels being so close the result won't be that bad, right? |
In the simplest way it will double every pixel and it will look exactly like how it would look on a 1080p monitor.
With a decent upscaler that works directly on the video source you'll get better results, it depends on the player. Since that's a software player on pc they will get better over time. However streaming 1080p movies will not look that good when you sit close, the compression artifacts and softness will be very noticeable. It's the same as blowing up a 540p video to 1080p, still looks decent but you might want to sit back a bit. 4K streaming is on the way though.
