I say though that the 3DS is not a failure. I understand that it was a failure on the first years but so far so good. The 3DS is doing great numbers even if it's never going to catch the DS. And frankly I think no other handheld will ever reach the same height.
I agree that the philosophy was wrong when they concieved the system but I don't think that they can't fix the problem. I think they need a new IP like the DS had. The DS had Brain Age and Nintendogs, and those two sold a lot! I think the 3DS can get back the DS crowd, they need a new IP like the DS had.
I agree though with the Wii U thing. I didn't know what to think about the system at E3. I liked the idea of the gamepad but I didn't buy it because of it. I bought it because of my inner Nintendo fangirl, and I even got it a year late. That's the problem though, only Nintendo gamers seem to be interested in it. The problem is... what if Nintendo doesn't come up with another Wii? Suppose the Wii U sells even less than the Gamecube? What will happen with the next system then? That would certainly be very troubling...
