I watched Wolf children today. Very nice movie. It looks great, the modern city and Totoro setting both are beautifully drawn. There is some very well integrated great looking cgi as well. The scene where they are running through the snow in the forest and mountains is my favorite. Music and surround sound effects are excellent. My only nitpick with the animation style is that they often don't draw in the detail in character's faces at medium distance. The blank faces kinda stand out on blu-ray.
The story could maybe not have started quite so far back, I didn't really get into the story until the kids were born. From then on I was hooked. Anyway the art style and setting were enough to carry the first 15 minutes.
8/10, will watch again, soon.
