Imagine you have a PS3 (80mi people have) why would you buy a Bravia TV if you would have to re-buy/subscribe to play the games you like? Why not to buy a cheaper Samsung or LG screen? If you have a Vita, why buy a Xperia, and vice versa.? |
There are still 7 milliard people left in the world that still don't have a PS3. This is a bonus feature that will among other things separate SONY's products from competition and presumably entice some people to buy SONY's TV's.
PS4, PSV, Tablets and Smartphones cater to different "target groups". I don't understand your point to be honest since I have a Vita and I have a tablet and I have a smartphone... So why next time when I uprade my Tablet and Smartphone wouldn't buy SONY's products if service (or services) to which I'm alredy subscribed will carry over to other devices?
I don't really understand why should this cut into sales of consoles.
