it only sold that much because alot of people had Wiis, even before Smash released. Put it this way, we werent having conversations about if Smash could save Wii. Wii u on the other hand? not so much, it will sell in proportion to how well Wii U sells. IMHO i dont see Smash pushing that much Wii Us. Especially cause their is a 3ds version and people might just stick to that.
