??? We are talking about pokemon. There are always two initial versions so that people are forced to trade in order to get all the pokemon they want. You're not supposed to buy both games. 


never played a pokemon, but why do this? why not just include everything like a normal developer..

It was made to encourage people to trade Pokemon kinda like cards. If you had Pokemon Blue and your friend had Pokemon Red you could trade exclusive Pokemon with one another, with only one game, this would have been impossible. Many kids made friendships while trading Pokemon.

Besides I have never meet anyone who has both versions of a Pokemon game, only the extreme hardcore fans buy both versions.
