Family being a wider ranged audience is all inclusive. There is no segregation of audiences here. The broken marketing terms casual and hardrcore which have been widely adopted by people who play games and media alike is where the segregation lies and where the seclusion begins...

How is Nintendo's 1st party software lacking in diversity compared to what exactly?

I hope you are only using Sony's games as a metric and not combining that with 3rd party software, which happens to be the primary reason to purchase of a "Nontendo" platform. I am 100% sure if roles were reversed in the 5th, 6th, 7th and now 8th gen you would not be so confident in Sony's ability to sell a console. I will go a bit further and say had not the cost of entry been so high to be a "PC gamer" the need for a Sony or Microsoft console would be even more redundant than it is now.

HD twins is not a combined platform nor will it ever be. Stop trying to make this a thing. It's not gonna happen!

79% chance of bankruptcy

"Mature" games or gamers for that matter. I feel silly just typing that.

I was going to write a long comment about how you still don't seem to understand my point and list to you the difference in Nintendo’s diversity compared to others, but I don't have the energy or time. All I will sale is Nintendo lost the 5th gen home console fight by a large margin. They were completely crushed in the 6th gen. They won by a modest amount in the 7th, but weren’t able to sustain the success past a few years. We are now in the 8th gen and so far they are back to their pre 7th gen number

Since the 5th gen Sony have sold almost 350 million consoles. Nintendo have sold just over 150 million in that time, with 2/3rds of that being from a single gen they couldn’t sustain).

Nintendo will always be the king of handhelds, but it’s obvious there home console strategy isn’t all that good compared to Sony’s. People can throw around “yeah but” and “what if” all they like, it happened. It’s still happening.

So with all that in mind, please do tell me of Nintendo’s glorious strategy  :P

On a side note, you do know the site that claims that statistic also claimed Nintendo to have a 22% chance of going bankrupt in the next 2 years? :P I'll let you muse over the absurdity of that before you decide on the credibility of their info.

PS: M stands for Mature. Nuff said.

Nintendo's success during the 7th gen was anything but modest. So much in fact that earlier in the gen Sony and Microsoft mocked its success only to mimick it later on.

350 Million consoles sold on the advent of new disc formats. That is no longer the case.

Nintendo's strategy is handheld first then home console.

Re: Nintendo's 22% chance of Bankruptcy, Yes I do and it's not so farfatched if you understand how they came to that conclusion.

The majority of people who play M rated titles can barely vote.

Nuff said.
