They can't ditch Kinect since it is already a given on any unit for devs. Ditching it now would kill a lot of game projects that may currently being developed counting on it.
Both SKUs are sold close to cost. Cutting US$100 now would put them at almost US$100 loss per unit and I don't see them taking that hit on XBox division. I actually believe Sony will cut price first since new GPUs with a high amount of GDDR5 memory will lead to mass production of larger GDDR5 memory and drive costs down. MS will have to cut cost on their APU.
