Isn't that an easy one?  I'm not even sure you need friends playing the game... It's you sharing them, not the friends.

Maybe it was, judging by forum topics, looks like since mid december the amount of those social pop ups is considerably lower or it's a glitch. I was looking at the trophy percentage on the PS4, I recall it being around 13%, now it's around 11% so there is something about it.

In my case, I've played for 53 hours, have now pretty much 100% completion, and only once saw a White Whale, not even one Royal Convoy or Community Chest.

But maybe it's for the better, I don't feel like doing the multiplayer trophies and since I won't have a trophy for the plat anyway, I won't feel bad about it
