I don't think it is time to new IP's.
An example is W101. It is great, but sold poorly. Atm, with such a small user base, any new IP will have weak sales and is hardly going to sell any consoles. The exception, i hope, is "x".
They need to bring their heavy hitters to create a bigger userbase, that will attract thirds (not only multiplataforms, but exclusives like Ni No Kuni was for PS3 or Fragile Dreams for Wii) and will allow them to try risky things.
They need Metroid as a shooter. Crimson Dragon for XONE is terrible, but reminded the market how good Star fox was, so that would be nice too.
F-Zero would be good only if Nintendo had a good marketing team to hype the thing, and since that is not the case, there is no need of F-Zero and MK8 in the same year.
