As of now, I'd say 4 or 5 / 10. Sounds like I hate the system, but I really want to love it like I did with Wii. But so far it has been a weird affair, no 120 star Mario game (we'll probably get it but late in the lifecycle it isn't the same :(

Good thing it is a very reliable system, so far it has crashed/freezed three times, all while playing Lego City. And that's a problem a lot of people have so it's not the Wii U's fault. Good it autosaves often so you won't get angry.

The Gamepad has seen too few good uses, Nintendo Land couldn't have done without it but I was bored of the game within a short time... Rayman Legends has been the funnest gameplay with gamepad for me. Lego City Undercover and Wind Waker also benefitted greatly with a map on the Gamepad. But I feel that using the Gamepad while other people has to use Wii remotes feels a little weird too, so maybe I'm still not used to it.

I bought the Wii U when it was new, December '12. Got NSMBU the next month and was pretty bored with that too. Lego City Undercover had a great campaign but the collectibles felt tacked on and there was just too much to collect for my tastes. Pikmin 3 was a fun little game too, finished it last month, but the gameplay got boring towards the end. Final boss was pretty scary too, not in terms of look, but in terms of how you had to approach it :O I saw the trailer for the Christmas themed DLC and got excited, but I tried the free demo stage and it didn't impress me anything.

I just don't feel the Nintendo magic nowadays as in the Wii/DS days, especially 2006-2008, those were GREAT years. I can feel it's slowly coming with 3DS now though, especially with Pokémon X and Y released. A Link Between Worlds is a sign of greatness to come. But with Wii U? I don't feel nothing. I feel just the same for PS4 though, love my PS3 but then again the PS4 just launched (but with no games I'm interested in). Maybe it's just a sign of me getting older. But I've felt this since Nintendo launched 3DS and Wii U. The E3 2013 without a live conference to applaud all Nintendo news was deeply saddening. But I've felt this way before so we'll see. I've also been very sick and asthmatic most part of 2013 but I've started to get much better now, finally. That may have a lot to do with my gaming tastes nowadays.

Sooner or later the magic will be back.

Yep.
