...you are the one that brought the example into the equation, I just used it. I can see this is just going to be a circular conversation, so I will just refer to my original post about how the systems share most of their games with each other and have similar specs. The only real differentiator is a handful of exclusives which i think works well at developing a preference, but I dont see how that turns into dislike or hate of the competing platforms. The truth is that fans of either system probably subconciously develop hatred to further justify their own buying decisions. However, if you dont see that then we can agree to disagree then. |
Right, you tried to be clever about it instead of just hearing the point.
Look, forget examples, I'll just spell it out for you.
While the consoles are similar, there are some major differences we can look at:
Exclusives
Pricepoint
Market strategy
But most importantly, what you are missing here is the overall market strategy. This is probably the most important difference, at least in the eyes of the active core gamers. PS fans, for whatever reason, do not like MS being in the industry. We can come up with all kinds of reasons, but it's about their involvement. It has nothing to do with the plastic box.
When x1 was revealed, the general reaction showed that it wasn't beyond expectations for MS to do what they had planned. I would say, if you're looking for why ps fans hate xbox, start with why ps fans hate Microsoft's involvement in console gaming, rather than boil it down to the consoles.
It's really not that hypocritical if you keep an open mind about it.
