The great 3ds sales are mentioned all the time.
But it's not a 1:1 comparison with home consoles. Handhelds are cheaper, the games are cheaper, and attach rate is lower than home consoles. For example total X360 & PS3 attach rate are at 10:1 and 9:1, while DS is at 5:1 and 3DS is at 2.8:1.
So not to take everything away from 3ds, but if it were a console THEN it would be amazing.

It IS a videogame console. And it IS competing for the same hard-earned money videogame fans spend, even not being a home but instead a portable console. Specially now that the casuals are abandoning dedicated gaming devices, I do think that those are amazing numbers.

Yes, and as I'm sure you know PS4 takes a lot more hard-earned money, so comparing just UNIT numbers is not apples to apples.

Still, both are videogame consoles and both belongs to the same market. Otherwise, we should have two separate VgChartz sites, one for home consoles and one for portables. That´s not the case.
