The mechanic that Riot Of The Blood refers to is not one game carrying a system, but rather, one game acting as a catalyst to draw the attention to the system. Every super-hyped game in history falls into this category. Just recently, we saw three come out: Halo 3, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Smash Bros Brawl. The thing is, catalyst games cannot sell a system on their own. There has to be a continuous follow-through of good games to keep the ball rolling, or interest wanes, for developers and gamers alike.
