I find that it's mostly teenagers and early 20 somethings that make the mistake of thinking handhelds and consoles are in the same market and are the same product. I don't know why that is. The Gameboy and Gamegear were not competing with SNES and Genesis. The GBA was not competing against the PS2. The DS was not competing against the PS3, it was competing against the PSP.
It's not just forum users who want it this way, its just a fact. Look it up. You can compare all you want and try to make the rules the way you want them to be, but that won't change the rules and how the marketplace runs.
