The PS4 is resonating with consumers fantastical well and the numbers prove that. Sony just need to keep this momentum going and anticipate the moves of the competition. If Sony makes the right moves consistently they can end this gen top comfortably and they do expect the PS4 to outsell the PS3 significantly. Andrew House said “It has an opportunity to significantly exceed what we've been able to achieve with the PS3. We start off with a price point that is much more consumer friendly than was there for the PS3".
So the PS4 is expected to outsell the PS3 which is now at 80million+ can it reach 90 to a 100million+ sold. Imo if the PS4 is going to outpace the Wii's sales it will come to how long this gen lasts and keeping the momentum going, which Sony are good at. Sony are onto a winner with the PS4 so it's not impossible to achieve but it's not going to easy either.
