I personally believe every big game holds a certain weight and once you have enough reasons for your personal tastes you'll pick it up.
this varies by person but you make a valid point. NSMB is a game that holds a bit of weight for a ton of people but isn't going to tip the scale for many. SSB on the other hand, is a scale tipper.
