Did I say anything about the numbers? I said we need to stop listening to him, because every "analysis" he gives is actually PR. And this one is included, not because of the numbers themselves (although they're strangely specific for any sort of real prediction - 37.7 million?), but because of the assertion surrounding the numbers. And the rest of Pachter's rationalisation doesn't make sense, anyway. He's paid to analyse, not to tell them how to "optimise strategy". For him to advise on that, he'd need to know the detailed inner workings of the company, and there's no way they'd give that level of information to him, especially if he has multiple clients. No, he provides analysis of trends, which is his job. And whenever he provides that analysis for free through the internet, etc, it's a worthless analysis. |

There was also one where he specifically answered the question for why he is giving out "insights" for free which I'm currently looking for.
With "optimizing" I meant less the inner workings of the company but their future investment strategy. And I never said he is optimizing the business but his insights are leading to optimization of future investments. The things he says publicly are worthless to any company because it's too unspecific and shallow. He gets paid for complex questions and deeper insights into the industry. That doesn't mean they have no worth for discussion. See it like this. Predictions like this would be an opening statement to a client of his. What's following is an in depth analysis. We don't get to see that analysis but that doesn't make the opening statement false or not mattering.
Also what do you mean with PR. For whom? Himself? Wedbush Securities? I don't think he would need this and is just answering questions asked by the community or journalists.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
