Nothing there says "People rush off to stores and buy gifts which results in an economic boost." but it's hilarious of you to try and insinuate that. Right in all of those, it clearly states, people give envelopes of money to people as gifts (akin to Chinese New Years) and they eat various cultural meals (also akin to Chinese New Years). NOTHING in any of these states what you implied to me which was, people are buying Wii Us, 3DS and other gaming consoles as gifts to each other.
I have a bunch of asian friends who celebrate this holiday and holidays similar to this and not once in over 6+ years has any of them gotten a video gaming console for this holiday or similar holidays. You are reaching out of your ass. That's why you can't find any Japanese advertisements. It's because, THERE IS NONE.
